Our HVAC Services

HVAC Repair

Any brand, any system, diagnosed before it is priced.

Heating and cooling in Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey has its own set of problems. Rowhomes with no room for ductwork, boilers older than the people living with them, additions cooled by a window unit because nobody wanted to touch the duct run, and four humid months that put every compressor in the region under load. Synergy3 Home Solutions has been a family-run heating, cooling and plumbing company in Philadelphia since 2006, and this is the section of the site that covers all of the HVAC work we do.

This page is a map rather than a sales pitch. Below is every HVAC service we offer, what each one covers and a link to the page with the detail. If you are not sure which one you need, call 267-802-3026 and describe what the system is doing. Our NATE-certified technicians diagnose first, quote in writing second, and start work only after you have approved the price.

Heating and Cooling Services

These four pages cover the equipment itself, whichever season it is giving you trouble in.

Air Conditioning

Repair, installation and maintenance for central air and the systems that cool your home in summer. Start here if the AC is running but not cooling, if it is old enough that repairs are adding up, or if you want it tuned before the first heat wave. See Air Conditioning Services.

Heating

Furnaces, boilers and heat pumps: repair when the heat quits in January, replacement when a system is past saving, and tune-ups in the fall to make sure it starts on the first cold night. See Heating Services.

Heat Pumps

One system that heats and cools, and increasingly the default choice on replacements in this region. We size, install and service them, including for homeowners moving off an aging furnace and air conditioner pair.

Ductless Mini Splits

The answer for homes with no ductwork, finished attics, additions, converted basements and any room the existing system never reached. Each indoor head is controlled on its own.

Repair, Installation and Emergency Service

If you would rather start from the kind of job than from the equipment, these three pages cut across all system types.

HVAC Repair

Diagnosis and repair on heating and cooling equipment of any brand, including systems we did not install. We carry the common parts on the truck, so most repairs finish on the first visit. See HVAC Repair.

HVAC Installation

New systems and full replacements, sized to the house rather than copied from whatever was there before. Free estimates, good, better and best options in writing, removal of the old equipment included, and financing available with approved credit. See HVAC Installation.

Emergency HVAC Service

No heat in a cold snap or no cooling in a heat wave moves to the front of the schedule during business hours. See Emergency HVAC Repair for how we prioritize those calls.

Indoor Comfort and Air Quality

Two services that decide how the system actually feels to live with, rather than whether it runs.

Indoor Air Quality

Filtration, humidity control and ventilation for houses that are dusty, stuffy or damp in ways that no thermostat setting fixes. Older, tighter and heavily renovated homes are the usual candidates. See Indoor Air Quality Services.

Smart Thermostats

Wi-Fi thermostats that schedule around your week and let you fix the temperature from your phone. The cheapest upgrade on this page and often the one people notice most on the utility bill.

Signs Your HVAC System Needs Attention

Heating and cooling systems rarely fail without warning. Any of the following is worth a call before it becomes an emergency:

Small failures get expensive when they are left alone. A worn capacitor is a routine repair; the compressor it takes out with it is not.

How We Work

The sequence is the same on every call, whether it is a tune-up or a full replacement.

  1. Diagnosis first. A technician tests the system and identifies what actually failed. We do not quote repairs from a phone description.
  2. Written price before the work. You see the number and approve it before anything starts. On replacements you get good, better and best options rather than a single figure.
  3. Same-day dispatch where the schedule allows. Homes with no heat or no cooling are prioritized. Our hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm and Saturday 7am to 3pm during peak season.
  4. Free estimates on replacement. If a repair is not worth the money, we say so and quote the replacement at no charge, so you can compare both numbers.

What Helps Us Diagnose Faster

None of this is required, but it shortens the visit and sometimes the bill. When you call, it helps to know roughly how old the system is, whether the problem is constant or intermittent, what changed just before it started, and whether the thermostat is calling for heat or cooling while nothing happens. If you can tell us the brand and model from the label on the cabinet, we can check parts availability before we arrive. And if the filter has not been changed in months, say so, because a surprising share of no-airflow calls end there.

Equipment We Install

We install Bryant Evolution and Preferred heating and cooling equipment, and Bosch boilers on the hydronic side. Evolution is the higher-efficiency, variable-capacity line for the lowest running cost and the quietest operation; Preferred covers dependable mid-range systems at a lower installed price. Which line fits depends on the house, how long you plan to stay in it and what you are paying now, which is a conversation for the estimate. The equipment detail lives on the individual service pages.

We service equipment from other installers and most major brands. On a repair-or-replace decision, the age of the system and the refrigerant it runs on matter far more than the badge on the cabinet.

HVAC in Older Philadelphia and South Jersey Homes

A large share of our work is in housing that predates modern HVAC design: rowhomes, twins, Cape Cods and post-war ranches, many with ductwork added decades after the house was built. That shows up as second floors that never cool, a boiler heating half the radiators it was sized for, and returns that were never large enough. We plan around what the building actually is, which sometimes means a ducted system, sometimes mini-splits, and occasionally the finding that the real problem is insulation rather than equipment. Because heating, cooling, plumbing and insulation all sit under one roof here, we can say that out loud instead of selling you a bigger furnace.

Why Philadelphia and New Jersey Homeowners Choose Synergy3 Home Solutions

Synergy3 Home Solutions opened in Philadelphia in 2006 and is still family-run, coming up on 20 years in this region. Our technicians are NATE-certified, the industry credential that requires proving competence on real equipment rather than sitting through a class.

More than 2,000 customers and a 4.9-star average across 500+ Google reviews is the part we protect hardest. It comes from arriving when we said we would, explaining the failure in language that makes sense, and putting the price in writing before the work rather than after it. Heating, cooling, plumbing and insulation under one company also means one number to call when a comfort problem crosses trades, which in older homes it usually does.

HVAC Maintenance and the Bee Protected Plan

Almost every emergency call we take was preventable six months earlier. Clogged condensate drains, filthy coils, dirty burners and capacitors at the end of their life are all visible during a tune-up, long before they leave a house without heating or cooling. Annual service also keeps the equipment running at the efficiency it was rated for, which lands on the utility bill every month, and it protects the paperwork: most manufacturer warranties require documented annual service, and a missing service history is a common reason a claim gets denied on equipment that is only a few years old.

Cooling equipment is best serviced in spring, heating in fall, and heat pumps twice a year because they run in both seasons. Our Bee Protected Plan starts at $150 per year and covers a 17-point tune-up performed by a NATE-certified technician, priority scheduling when the region is booked solid, and no overtime or dispatch fees on service calls. It is a maintenance and priority agreement rather than an insurance policy: repairs and parts are still quoted separately, in writing, before any work starts.

Repair or Replace? How the Decision Gets Made

This is the question behind most of the calls on this page, and it is a comparison rather than a philosophy. Three things decide it: the age of the equipment, which component failed, and how often you have already been calling.

A newer system with a single straightforward failure, an igniter, a capacitor, a contactor, is worth repairing every time. A system past 12 to 15 years on the cooling side or 15 to 20 on the heating side, needing a compressor, heat exchanger or blower motor, usually is not, and neither is an air conditioner still running R-22 refrigerant that is no longer produced. The grey zone in the middle is where an honest second number matters.

So we give you both. When a repair is not worth the money we say so, and the replacement estimate is free, with good, better and best options in writing. Financing is available with approved credit, and our current promotion takes $1,000 off full system replacements. You compare two real numbers and decide, rather than taking anyone's word for which one is better.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does HVAC actually cover?

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning: furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, central air, ductless mini-splits, ductwork, thermostats and air quality equipment. In practice it is everything that decides the temperature and air in your home.

How quickly can you get a technician out?

Same-day in most cases during business hours, with no-heat and no-cooling calls prioritized. Our hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm and Saturday 7am to 3pm during peak season.

Do you charge for an estimate?

Estimates on new systems and replacements are free. Repair calls begin with a diagnosis, and you approve the written price before any work starts.

Do you service systems you did not install?

Yes. We repair and maintain heating and cooling equipment from any installer and most major brands.

Should I repair my system or replace it?

It comes down to the age of the equipment, which component failed and what refrigerant it uses. We quote the repair and, where replacement is worth considering, a free replacement estimate alongside it, so you are comparing real numbers rather than guessing.

Can you install heating or cooling in a home with no ductwork?

Yes. Ductless mini-splits are built for that, and they are common in rowhomes, additions and finished attics across the city.

Is financing available?

Yes, financing is available with approved credit. We cover the options during the estimate so the monthly figure is part of the decision from the start.

Do you work in New Jersey as well as Pennsylvania?

Yes. We have offices in Philadelphia and New Jersey and cover Greater Philadelphia along with much of South and Central Jersey.
